We were very excited about the first event of the season – Saturday 5th March, Aston le Walls – here we come……but it was not to be;  rain stopped play in the Midlands.  Lucy G, who had plaited and prepared Duncan (Rainstown Star) and Jack (Crackerjack II) beautifully, was particularly grumpy!

However, Moreton Russell in Dorset still had spaces available and saved the day – thank you for squeezing us in.

Crackerjack did a beautiful dressage test to score 23.3 and went clear SJ.  Cross country was running late, and David used all his charm and persuasion to get to the front of the queue, and it was a stirring sight to see him first out of the box in the first class at the first event of 2016.  He and Jack (pictured), in their first event together finished second.

By the time Duncan got to his dressage, the ground was quite poached and sticky but he was marked with a respectable 35.8, and with a double clear he finished in 12th place.
